Traffic from E-mail trick

Posted 11th August 2008 | Comments

Well this is something I discovered accidentally but nevertheless it brought me some good traffic so I thought of sharing it with you , this is pretty easy to do and you can do this and you can do this in about 5-10 minutes and this can bring you a some good consistent traffic for a period. Of course if you keep on doing this it can bring you a lot of traffic for a long time. You know those e-mails that flow around asking you to solve a quiz or a mathematics problem , well people tend to love solving puzzles like that and they are the kind of ones that get forwarded often as well. All you have to do is create a small puzzle like that, add your blogs url in a clearly visible place with some juicy anchor texts and send it to some of your friends. Word free is always a good way to get those clicks coming :) . To make it more interesting you can add a password protected excel sheet and make the password the answer to the riddle or any other cool thing like that. I guess you can see the potential of this, you send it to 10 people they send it to another 10 and so on and if you it reaches around 1000 people you are likely to get at least 100 visitors. Well make sure you lead them to a relevant page and you just might get some subscribers as well.

Well to start things off here's a small riddle for you guys to solve.

1, 2 , 6 , 42 , 1806 , x = ?

One who leaves the correct answer in the comments section gets 100 EC :)

Let's be sociable, come on, you know you want to. I appreciate the support.

  • @Niroshinie,
You are correct , It should be 42 , And your answer is also correct .I'm not that good at Maths here's how I got the answer
    1*2 = 2
    2*3 = 6
    6*7 = 42
    42*43 = 1806
    1806*1807 = 3263442

Well I was going to send you 100EC for winning and 1000EC more for finding the typo , but too bad you didn't have EC widget installed.Glad to know your from Sri Lanka though :)
  • Actually I think there's a typo in the sequence :)
    Shouldnt it be 1,2,6,42 (NOT 41) ,1806,..?
If its 41 my answer is wrong of course..but 41 being a prime number I guess its more likely to be that typo.
    Oh and X = 3263442
    1*1 + 1 =2
    2*2+2 =6
    6*6+6=42
    42*42+42=1806 so on and on
