Former minister and UNP parliamentarian T. Maheshwaran was shot at Sri Ponnambala Vaneswara Hindu Temple in Kotahena today morning and succumbed to injuries at the intensive care unit of the Colombo General Hospital. One of his guard was also killed in the incident. As expected the government has ordered an inquiry , all the its the government that should be held responsible in the first place since it reduced the security provided to the MP even after requests he made to tighten his security. This is the the second killing of a politician killed in a place of worship , and the inquiry about the first of its kind ,killing of minister Joseph Pararajasingham is still going on.

Wish you all a happy and a prosperous New Year .
