WP-Optimize simple and efficient Wordpress plug-in

Posted 6th May 2009 | Comments

WP-Optimize is a plug-in I started using very recently and I have to say it is very efficient plug-in to optimize your Wordpress installations database. I first heard about it from Lyndi who has some very useful Wordpress tips and tricks in her blog. The great thing about this plug-in is that it is very easy to use. All you need to do to optimize your Wordpress databases is to mark four check boxes and press process and the plug-in will take care of optimizing the database for you. If you know some I guess you can do this yourself but why bother when you have a very simple plug-in to do the work for you. This is especially useful don't have much idea of a Wordpress installation but still want to keep your databases clean. Below image explains the process much clearly.

As you can see it cleans all post revisions , cleans spam comments , clean unapproved comments and optimizes the database tables for you. If you are like me who has many revisions for a single post then this plug-in can really do some serious cleaning in your database. You can even change your user name using the plug-in if you really want to :) .I hope you find this plug-in useful and if you know a plug-in that does a similar or a better job feel free to share it in the comments section.

Let's be sociable, come on, you know you want to. I appreciate the support.

  • @Nihar,
You are welcome , putting off things is human nature I guess , but if you are like me who saves and preview the article few times before publishing this can really save some disk space.
  • Thanks for this. I have checked this in Lyndi's blog, but forgot to try my hands on it.

I will now head to plugin site and install it.
