Plenty of sites are popping out nowadays to make some money using Adsense , it will be a bit harder now since now you need to own a domain to register for an Adsense account. The question is can you make money using Adsense in Sri Lankan websites. Although you can make some money it will be a very low amount if your website traffic mostly consists of Sri Lankans. The problem is that most of the Advertisers who advertise using AdWords are targeting US markets. So there is competition for ad slots thus increasing the price per click. But when it comes to Sri Lanka there is hardly any competition at all unless you are targeting the correct keywords. And I have found only very few keywords that actually pay good for Sri Lanka traffic.
One of the most common made for Adsense sites I find are the ones targeting celebrities. They will add some celebrity picture and clutter the whole thing with Adsense ads. If you are getting a considerable traffic I guess this is a good ploy but with such low prices for clicks it will take some time to make 100$ payout level.

Promoting an affiliate product is a good option other than Adsense. There are thousands of product out there that an affiliate can promote so it want be that hard to find something related to your niche or website. One thing to keep in mind is that Sri Lankans are somewhat reluctant to buy things online so you have to find the right balance between removing Adsense and adding the affiliate product.
Looking for private advertising is another good way to make some money from your websites. This is very useful if you are getting considerable traffic for some targeted niche. I found it much easier to find private advertising for websites related to tourism.
