Holding contests is a good way to generate some buzz , and sponsoring contests are a good way to build up some back links. I recently sponsored a contest at General Marketing Blog and the winner of the blog review from this site is Vickie who blogs about entertainment news.
He must be really passionate about his blog and celebrity news because he comes up with about 3-4 posts every day.In a niche like his where competition is tough dedication really pays off. Being a programmer I'm not that much into celebrity news , but I really did appreciate some of the videos and photographs , lets just say they were very entertaining 
. And most of the posts were very latest news so if you want a up to date site about celebrity news I highly recommend this one. There's even a picture forum tab , which directs you to a forum board where you can download celebrity pictures , etc but you have to register first.
The layout looks like a three column theme but the right most sidebar was shown way down in Firefox.So I checked out the site in IE and instead of a blank space I got web site not found page.I checked it out for two days so I don't think you can give the excuse of the ad program running crashed.Vickie better fix that soon because thats one thing visitors hate.
When it comes to monetizing Vickie seems to Using plenty of methods , but they are placed without obstructing the content so reader experience is not harmed. Instead of a small box text links in the sidebar I suggest Vickie to use a AdSense banner at the top because that can really improve his click ratio.I'm not a very big fan of Spott but I guess it varies according to the blog. Project wonderful is good if you get high bids but I think Vickie should try out few more Ad networks.
One thing that Vickie should implement real fast is the social bookmarking ability.Since he mostly comes up with the latest celebrity news users are very likely to digg or stumble his posts , but they can't do that at the moment. If he implements that he can expect some nice traffic spikes once in a while .
Finally congratulation to Vickie for winning the contest hope he keeps the videos and the pictures coming .

Your posts need to be very high quality in order to make it to the top of social bookmarks. Even if your readers help by submitting and bookmarking.
SO what do you suggest to get my posts “of better quality”????
