I was not happy with the traffic Blogrush was sending my way so I was thinking of getting rid of the widget from my blog, but a mail got me thinking and interested in blogrush again. Well the mail was about TrafficJam.com , its sort of like Digg and stumbleupon where the good articles get more exposure regardless of traffic level. But instead of using users votes TrafficJam uses data from the Blogrush network.Below is an excerpt from the about page,

“TrafficJam.com uses technology to analyze the click-through rates of millions of blog post titles across the BlogRush Network, along with other factors such as time spent on a particular blog entry’s page, and attempts to estimate the ‘popularity’ and ‘quality’ of certain posts based on similar data from other blog posts of the same topic.”

In the about page it is mentioned this is intended to give exposure to great blog posts regardless of the current traffic level of the blog.Somehow I tend to doubt that.

1. Large established blogs have a big Blogrush network.

2. So they get more credits.

3.Meaning their posts gets more exposure

4.Meaning more clicks hence coming up top on the TrafficJam network :)

So although chances of a small blog getting exposure is slightly improved according to my opinion the system is still favored towards the big blogs. But its stated that the ranking algorithm is going to be improved so don’t get rid of your Blogrush widget just yet.Since the Blogrush widget displays the post title and the blog name the trick is to write a nice juicy title. ( Blogrush strikes back shown in Blogrush widget ? :) )

Enough about the widget, what about the TrafficJam site ? well I instantly liked the site because of its clean layout.Top 20 posts from all categories is shown by default and categories are shown in the side for easy navigation. There are thousand of blogs writing about making money online and there was no such category :( .Instead you have to find them in the computers and Internet section and in the Finance and Investment section. But the articles that were shown were very useful.Since the site is new I doubt people will start to abuse the system yet, but as the site grows in prominence people will usually start abusing the system. If you have some cash to throw around its so easy to get digged and stumbled ( there are sites where you can buy diggs and stumbles :) ).Here is an excerpt from the mail telling how great the system and why you should use it.
