From PR0 To PR3

Blog sphere was buzzing with the news of Google PR update so I checked out mine this evening and I have moved from PR of 0 to PR of 3.Thats a jump of 3 within a space of three months so I think I can be happy about my efforts.Below are some of the things I did to during the last three months that enabled me to reach a PR of 3.

My biggest traffic resource was Entrecard, its about a month since I joined Entrecard and it has really helped me expand my blog.There is lot of criticism saying that you don’t get quality traffic from Entrecard , although it is true to a certain extent considering the countless opportunities available in Entrecard that is something you should really consider trying out , especially if your a new blogger , and I see very few Sri Lankan blogger using it . In a future post I will let you know about how to use Entrecard to maximize traffic to your blog. No you don’t have to drop 300 cards every day to do this.

My next two biggest traffic resources were the two Sri Lankan blog aggregators I have added my feed to. Special thanks to Indi at Kottu and Niro at Slblogs , without them not only will I get less traffic but I wouldn’t have found great blogs like whisperings and Me & My blog.Somehow I managed to get them to add RSS feeds so I can track their posts much easier . If you are a blogger who don’t have an RSS feed in your blog I suggest you add them quickly , its a great way for your visitors to keep track of your blog.If you have somewhat good content I might subscribe and if I cant find the RSS button chances are that I will never visit your site again. Of course I will nag you to add an RSS feed if you have really great content .And if you do decide to add an RSS feed please try to make it obvious to everyone.Me & My blog has a great example of how not to add an RSS feed .

Next best traffic resource was stumbleupon.Never underestimate the power of one or two stumbles , they can go a long way in generating massive traffic. I cant talk of everything here so in one of my future post I will talk about how to attract stumbleupon and digg users. I had few of my posts picked up by random feed readers and they did manage to generate me some traffic as well.

All this traffic is good but you don’t get a high PR if people don’t link to your blog. Long day today and have to go for a swim , so stay tuned for my back link building strategies. By the way making money online is cool but biggest wealth is health , so don’t forget to exercise .
