Contest is king , but your great article with great content isn’t worth anything if you don’t have visitors to your blog.Thats why services like Blogupp is great for expanding your reader base. Blogupp is similar to services like Spott where you are rewarded for your page impressions. They promise a 10:9 exchange ration which is far better that Spott.The best thing about this is it works very well with Entrecard. Same concept as Spott really , you get the impressions through Entrecard and in turn your blog is shown in Blogupp widget in other blogs.

- Two blogs are shown in the widget at the same time so you have competition

I’m not getting huge traffic through this , but since I don’t have to do anything to get traffic from this it is worth a try. As I mentioned earlier this works very well with Entrecard since Entrecard generates the page impressions for you.
A snapshot of your blog is shown in the widget so if you have a unique blog design you have a much better chance of getting clicked by the user.You can see it in action in my sidebar.

Hi I’ve been running the widget about 2 months. I get about 500 visits a day. And I would say I’ve had maybe 10 people come through Blogupp. So i’ts not hurting anything, but that is a lot of page real estate. So probably it wont survive my next redesign.
