Stumbleupon is about to introduce a new feature in the near future which is hopefully definitely going to improve the stumbleupon traffic you are going to get. One of the reasons some users were reluctant to use stumbleupon was that you have to install the stumbleupon toolbar to rate and browse other sites. For reasons like keeping the browser clean , to save memory or just out of fear of installing something some people stayed away from stumbleupon. But with the new changes users who have already installed the toolbar will get the same experience but new users can enjoy the stumbling experience without having to install anything because now a small frame will load on top of the website so users can rate and stumble as usual. One drawback is that you need to visit the stumbleupon home page and start browsing from there for the page to load. And soon as you visit a new website without clicking the button in the frame the frame goes off.
CNET has a great article which includes some thoughts from Garrett Camp who founded stumbleupon why such a new feature was introduced. Another feature that is introduced is the ability to add a digg like stumble counter button. Under that counter you have a stumble button which will take you to another relater post in your blog. At the moment this feature is enabled only in some partner websites so you want be able to add it to your blog just yet. The image shows how it looks like on howstuffworks web site.
This certainly is a welcome change by stumbleupon which will lead to a rise in its members thus benefiting all its members. And once the new stumble button is available to all websites and blogs it will lead to blogs getting more page views as well. What do you think of the new features that are going to be enabled in stumbleupon ? Feel free to share in your thoughts in the comment section.
