Where do you get most of your readers ? For my blog which is relatively new most readers come through Kottu. When I post, from Kottu alone I get around 100 hits , of course this depends on the topic ,for instance one of my posts No Jobs for SLIIT students got a lot of hits from Kottu, and once a Kottu reader reads my post and if he likes it he might send the link to someone else etc etc. The point I’m trying to make here is that blog aggregators are a great way to get some exposure for blogs, Especially true for new ones , So having your content shown on more than one doesn’t hurt. So I was really happy to find another Sri Lankan blog aggregator
.
SL Blogs is just like Kottu , But instead of a small portion of the post the whole post is shown. The drawback of this method is that only a few posts can be shown in the home page. So as the site grows with more and more blogs getting syndicated chances of your post being viewed by someone gets more and more less. The site owner just might fix this after reading this post
. Currently there are 16 blogs syndicated , This will surely rise as the word spreads around. You have the join option in the home page and joining it is pretty simple. You also have the option of specifying the category of your blog , hopefully this will enable readers to find what they want easily. Actually this is something I think indi also should do at Kottu. But then again there doing this for free in there spare time , so you have to be understandable.
And now to the free domain part , To spread the word about SL Blogs they are having the first ever blog contest to be held in Sri Lanka. So you have a chance to win a free domain name for a full year. The details could be found here. All you have to is blog about SL Blogs. Hopefully I will win this one. ![]()

More the merrier I guess , Bloggers are becoming a powerful force now.
